Description

Clinical Benefits
GutGard Liquorice: A randomised controlled trial (RCT) of 50 patients with functional dyspepsia concluded that GutGard Liquorice was associated with a significant decrease in total gastrointestinal symptom score on day 15 and day 30 (p<0.05). Quality of life also significantly improved in the GutGard group (p<0.05).
*Liquorice may heal damaged gut mucosa by increasing local concentrations of prostaglandins that promote mucus production and cell proliferation in the stomach.
Turmeric: A randomised, controlled trial (RCT) of 76 participants found turmeric was associated with significant improvement in symptoms of acid dyspepsia and excessive belching compared to those receiving placebo (p=0.003).Curcumin reduces the production of the inflammatory cytokines and may exert anti-nociceptive activity through an antagonistic effect on transient receptor potential vanilloid-1 receptors.
Globe artichoke has a stimulatory effect on bile acid production (choleretic effect), helping to support gastric motility.
